The game, as the name might suggest, is meant to be the first in the Zelda timeline. You start off as a farmboy wanting to prove to everyone your courage, but as you set off on an adventure you soon discover the truth about recent battles in the east. And it becomes clear to you that although a war is on the horizon, the chaos is just beginning... and the only one who can save the day is you.


Demos

The demo has one dungeon, with puzzles, bosses and bad guys, most of the engine is complete and about half of the items are in there. The dungeon won't be in the final game, this is a sort of "prequel" to the main game. There's a special reward for completing it without dying wink.gif

Eh... I don't know, we tend to do the Beta testing ourselves, and the guys at Just Zelda (The people we're making the game for) will probably get first dibs on playing it.

New Screens:
[EDIT: See them in the first post]

1: Beta Title screen logo. Man was it hard to get that effect on the triforce, it's animated in-game.
2: Insane hookshot scenario I had to program the engine to handle. Eh, not truly insane but it is to program since the bookshelves and wall under Link are solid objects... Which the hookshot is programmed to bounce off of, normally.
3: Mmm particle effects...
4: Bow & Arrow... I got nothing to say...

This game rocks!!
When i played it i got that "Old Gb feeling".
2 tiny things of critisism:
1: the shuriken-number sprite is added on the sprite itself so i only saw like 1/3 of that bombs sprite which is strange.
2: I played the boss and it was hard to beat it (i didn't got completed it at all), so my question is: Is this boss going to be in the first dungeon?

Heh, no, none of this level or boss will be in the actual game. Well, maybe we'll reuse some of the boss, but most of the levels will be specific to areas, "Fire Temple" etc.
But the first dungeon will be easy.

As for only seeing 3/4 of the shuriken bomb on the item screen, yeah it was our solution to the text being drawn on top of it, and being unreadable otherwise. I agree that it looks kinda weird, so if I think of a better way to handle it it'll probably be changed.

Sorry for the bump.
This is awesome, I like how you guys used these little cool effects for the sword spin,walking on the water,etc.
I'm playing just now...the first time I heard of this game there was no demo so I just checked and there was one.
The only problem I see so far it's when I got the bow it didn't show on the menu until I randomly pressed a or s on an empty spot...also when close to a rock it says "grab" yet when you press the "action" key it doesn't grab, maybe you guys planed to gain a special item to pick up rocks if so then you should make the "grab" action not appear until you get that item.
I'll keep playing and tell you anything weird I see...this it's too awesome!
