Well, in brief:

- The forum and the site are integrated.

- Posting sprite sheets/examples/games/music/whatever will be like posting a new topic, and people can comment on stuff.

- Everyone will have a control panel where you can do interesting things, including uploading things to the site, with a 'library' of stuff you've uploaded.

- Unlike what we're currently using, the forum won't constantly glitch, nor will it have so many ads and a stupidly constricted layout.

- There'll be lots of little features I've dreamed up, plus events and things to help get more popularity. Also, there'll be competitions where you can actually win prizes, that we've never run yet because not enough people come here. But after the new site is launched, I guarantee activity, woo!


Yeah, sounded pretty good back when I started. Now I just want to finish, if only I had more spare time...........

Sweet, new forums? Is this something you are coding yourself or using an existing forum/CMS? I just finished up writing my own CMS in PHP and a forum that integrated natively if you were interested in checking it out. I can lend a hand if you need any PHP help :D

Yeah, it's completely written from scratch in PHP.

It's actually nearly finished, just that I have so little spare time these days I barely ever get a chance to work on it.

Cool. If you need anything PHP wise, let me know. I write mostly in 5 (OOP).

It's not styled at all yet, obviously it'll be nice buttons and things, and I might change it a bit before the site's finished, but it's a nice glimpse at what I've been working on.

The [ code ] tag took a long time to get working, and so I figured I might as well add support for highlighting GML. It's a little bit slow, because game maker actually has well over a thousand functions, but worth it, I think.

I'm sorry I failed to finish the new site on time (I was aiming to launch it on KG's fifth birthday). It's nearly done, but I'm leaving now for uni, and doubt I'll have any free time. Sorry.

I won't be back until almost christmas probably, although I'll check back every now and then.

Even if it takes me the rest of my life, I will finish the new site, I promise.
